Reserving the stand’s position (exhibitions/events)

  1. Find out if the show is divided into different sections – and therefore which area is the most relevant to your brand.

  2. Work out where visitor foot traffic will be highest and try and get your stand along side it. Popular positions are at the corner of an aisle, facing the entrance and near the cafés. Also being beside a competitor is good way to reach a shared target audience.

  3. If you'd prefer to stay away from your key competitors then try and get as close as possible to big, popular brands that will attract plenty of traffic.

  4. Sign up as soon as possible - and make sure you ask for a discount.

Most organisers give far better ‘early-bird’ discounts than late-deal discounts. Some won’t even entertain last minute deals on a stand. (Show organisers couldn’t function if all exhibitors waited until the last minute to book).

  5. Give the organisers your details, logo and appropriate pictures to use in the show guide. Tell them about any special events you are running, competitions or celebrity visits.

  6. Check the ceiling height (and how high you are actually allowed to build) and the position of any nearby pillars. Add this information to the stand brief.

  7. Consider asking the organisers if your stand can be marked as a ‘meeting point’ on the exhibition visitor’s guide.
